Flourish has been running for around 7 months now – so we caught up with Ray to ask how it is all going…

The Coffee Shop provides a lovely relaxed atmosphere, with delicious cakes and a hot drink at the bargain price of £2!  We have around 20 to 30 guests each week who all enjoy coming and chatting with their friends and meeting new people as well.

We have a mixture of old and new faces each week – if you’re new to TVC Church, it’s a great way to get to know some more people and make connections with our church family.  Equally, even if you don’t come to TVC Church it’s a great place to come and meet some friendly faces and have some time socialising together!  We have a couple of table quizzes each week for those who like a bit of brain teasing but there’s no pressure to take part in those if it’s not your thing!

Flourish is for all ages – we tend to have mostly retired people coming along but we also have a few of the Mums coming for a drink after their Baby Massage class, so there are some lovely relaxed babies to admire each week!

We are sometimes asked why we are called Flourish – well, it’s taken from Psalm 92 v 12 – 13:  “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.” Our heart is to see everybody flourish in whatever they are doing, or wherever they are placed and we believe that friendship is foundational to this.

Do pray for us as we meet each week that we’ll make good connections and reach out with the love of God to all those who need it.  If you’d like to be part of our team that welcome and host this event, do get in touch with Ray or Sylvia Mills. We do have a challenge with getting lifts for some folk who don’t have their own transport, so any offers of help there would be much appreciated!

So feel free to come along to Flourish – you’ll receive a warm welcome!
