At TVC Church, we are a family who take care of each other and we believe that God has called us to reach out to those around us.

Recently, Carolyn Bond, one of our lovely Church members and volunteers, has been stirred to gather a team together, who can reach out to those who are living with dementia or other forms of memory loss. Research shows there are more than 850,000 people in the UK who have dementia. For those who are living with dementia or memory loss, the world can feel a lonely and scary place. For those who are supporting somebody with memory loss, the task can feel frustrating and often overwhelming. So Carolyn found herself asking, how can we, as a Church, be reaching out to those around us who are living with this challenge.

Introducing….’Good Company’

On the second Thursday of each month, our Coffee shop is open from 1.30pm until 3pm exclusively for those who are living with dementia or memory loss and their family/carers.

Our team and Coffee Shop Staff have undergone specialist training, provided by the Stockton Dementia Care team and will be available for a cuppa and a chat within a safe, relaxed and understanding environment.

Our next ‘Good Company’ group at The Oakwood Coffee Shop will be this coming Thursday (9th June) from 1.30pm until 3pm.

Everyone is welcome – so spread the word!
