We are thrilled to be welcoming special guest Andy Hawthorne to speak to us at TVC Church this coming Sunday!

So who is Andy Hawthorne?

Andy is from Cheadle in Manchester and is married to Michelle and their two children are now adults.

As a teenager in Manchester, Andy Hawthorne loved to party and describes his life as ‘wild’. His life changed at age 17 when he found Jesus.

In the mid 90’s, he and his brother were running a fashion accessories business. His heart was moved for the young people who worked for them, who didn’t know Jesus and so he set off on his first crazy faith venture and set up the largest Christian rock concert in the UK at the time.

Over time, Andy’s passion to share Jesus has grown into The Message Trust. Andy is a man of vision and determination to make a difference. His moto is ‘Let’s do it!’

You can find out more about Andy’s story here.

What is our link with Andy?

As TVC Church, we have a really strong partnership with The Message. We currently have three Eden teams and a Community Grocery and more recently a Message Bus! We have quite a few members of TVC Church who are employed by the message, including Elder Terry Young who heads up the Message North East.

Our Senior Leader, Martin Dunkley’s relationship Andy actually goes back about 30 years (we know, Martin doesn’t look old enough!), as Martin was a Church leader in Manchester, before he moved to Teesside. They actually worked together in setting up the first ever Eden Project in Benchill, Manchester in 1997.

Tell me about ‘The Message’

The Message Trust is a worldwide movement, passionately sharing the love of Jesus Christ in words and actions with the hardest-to-reach young people and communities.

From building up evangelists all over the world through Advance Groups, equipping and training young people on the Message School Of Evangelism, serving communities through Eden and Community Groceries, and declaring the love of Jesus in schools work, The Message are seeing lives transformed as people discover their true identity in Christ

We are really looking forward to Sunday – it will be a great opportunity to hear from Andy, who is a great speaker and has such a passion for mission. It will also be a great opportunity for us to celebrate our partnership with The Message and all that God is doing through us!
