Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a national charity aimed at helping people to be free from debt.  At TVC Church, we operate a CAP Centre, offering support, expertise and training for those who are struggling financially. This service is totally free and is open to anybody, regardless of their faith. You can find out more about the work of CAP nationally by visiting their web page.

This week, our CAP centre manager, Julie Parker, got in touch to let us know that two of her clients have recently gone debt free!

The first is a lady has been journeying with us for 8 years! That is 8 years of facing up to the debt that she had incurred. We are thrilled that she has stuck at it and can now move forward without debt. Julie says “There have been lots of challenges along the way but it has It has been wonderful to support her through them all.” This lady already has a strong faith in the Lord and we know that He will continue to help and guide her.

The second is a man who has been on a much shorter journey with debt, but was also trapped in fear and broken relationships. It has been wonderful to journey with him, not just into freedom from debt but also into restored relationship with his children. He is now much more positive about the future. We will continue to pray for him.

It is an absolute joy and privilege to stand beside people in their darkest hour and really take the light of Jesus to them.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives.”

Luke 4v18
