As part of our summer series, Pray Like Jesus, Anna Biddlecombe explores the line in the Lord’s Prayer, ‘Give us this day’, and the idea of daily dependence, not just for food or shelter, but for peace, purpose, and soul-deep nourishment.

Drawing on the story of manna in the wilderness, it looks at how God provides what we need, one day at a time.

Jesus challenges anxiety and self-sufficiency with the words, ‘Your Father knows what you need before you ask.’ (Matthew 6:8) In a world that tells us to stockpile, hustle, and stay in control, this is a radical invitation to trust.

It’s a reminder to pause, reflect, and ask… are we looking to God for what truly sustains us?
