TVC Church is a community of believers who meet right across the Tees Valley, all week long with the aim of simply knowing Jesus and making Him known.

Many of our gatherings, events and activities happen at The Oakwood, which is the largest of our buildings and is a fantastic resource for us as a Church and for four our neighbouring communities.

Over the past few years, God has been increasing our heart for the little town that The Oakwood sits right on the edge of – Eaglescliffe. We are convinced that God has a plan and purpose for every person living in Eaglescliffe and so we have been looking for new ways to take the hope that we have in Jesus out into this community.

In January, we launched a new monthly community brunch. The program is simple – come and enjoy some croissants, pastries and coffee at Eaglescliffe Community Centre, enjoy some live music and hear stories of hope. These events are open to everyone but with a specific focus on the town of Eaglescliffe.

We asked team leader Rob to tell us how it’s been going…

 What has happened so far?

We have held two events so far, one in January and one in February and everyone who has attended has really enjoyed it. We had a few members of our local community come the first month and they came back the second month, as well as some extra people too! It has been great to see whole families turning out and we loved hearing that not only are parents engaging in the stories of faith that are shared, but that the children are taking home what they have learnt and are initiating discussion around faith at home. We have also been really encouraged by the support that our TVC Church family members who live in Eaglescliffe have shown to the events and love that they are bringing their neighbours and friends along.

Our next Brunch is this coming Sunday – so what are you looking forward to this week?

We are looking forward to the community in Eaglescliffe meeting up and getting together again. We are expecting to meet new people and are really looking forward to getting to know them. Each month, Helen Conroy has brought a great talk on a relevant subject and we are just looking forward to seeing what God will do as we step out in faith again this week.

What can TVC Church be praying for you and your team?

Please pray for people to have the boldness to invite their friends who don’t yet know Jesus.

Pray that people feel encouraged and challenged by the talk and music, as we share with them something different that is full of hope and love.

Pray especially for our visitors, that they would touch something of the heart of God for them and that they would begin a journey of faith for themselves.
