Two years ago, three members of our Three13 staff stood on stage at The Oakwood Centre to tell us about the work that we, as TVC Church, were doing across the local area, to bring compassionate transformation to Teesside. This Sunday, our stage was looking nice and full, as we celebrated all that God has done and is doing through the work of Three13.

Through Three13, we work to address the issue of high unemployment in Teesside. We focus on helping people who are furthest from the job market, back into work, by increasing their confidence through work experience, careers guidance and accredited training programmes.

“Forgetting what’s in the past and looking forward to what lies ahead”, each person we engage with gets the tailored support they need to grow and develop, to overcome obstacles and fulfill their personal potential. This support takes place face-to-face, in working environments at our training hub or out in the community.

In the past 2 years, we have had 270 people engage with the Three13 advance program (a rolling programme which provides an individual with 96 hours of learning, across 4 weeks, to complete a vocational skills qualification in the work experience pathway of their choice).

We have also seen our staff of 3 grow to a staff of 20 (with another staff member starting this week) and 7 voluntary team members. These team members work throughout the week to see lives transformed.

In the past 12 months, in spite of restriction, we have seen 70 of our learners, find meaningful employment.

But that is not all. As well as offering practical help, we also share the gospel with every person that we meet and in the past 7 weeks, we have seen 7 people find hope in Jesus.

We just want to give glory to God, for this amazing work that he has birthed right here in TVC Church. We ask you to pray for all the learners and team at Three13 as they go about their week and we ask you…would you like to be part if this? Three13 is currently looking for people to befriend learners who have discovered hope in Jesus as they connect with Three13. Could you stand beside somebody and help them in their first steps of faith? If so – drop Jill a line at jill.govier@three13.co.uk, she would love to help you to get connected in.
