This week, we welcomed special guest speaker Dr Ben Doolan, Vicar of St Thomas’ Newcastle, who shared a message on Prioritising the Presence of God from Luke 8:40–56.

Through the stories of Jairus, whose daughter was dying, and a woman who had suffered for 12 years, Ben reminds us that whatever our circumstances, we all need the presence of Jesus. He challenges us to consider whether we’re relying on our own strength, skills and experience rather than depending on God.

We can have the best programmes and people, but none of these can do what the Holy Spirit can do.

Ben also reminds us that we belong to Jesus before we do anything for him, and that his presence is what brings real change to our lives and communities.
