This Sunday, we have Will Horner coming to speak to us at TVC Church. Will actually grew up at TVC Church and many of his family are still active within our church community. Will now lives in York with his wife Elyse and their young son – we are thrilled to welcome them home this Sunday and to hear what God has given him to say to us.
So who is Will Horner?
Will grew up in Stockton, a stones throw from Ropner Park, in a large and active family. It was through that family and through coming to kids groups and Youth groups at TVC Church that Will learnt about Jesus and began his lifelong journey of following Him.
In 2012 Will met his beautiful wife Elyse and moved to Canada to be with her and to begin their married life together. In 2018, Will and Elyse felt a strong call from God to move back to the UK and specifically to begin a new Church plant in York. The began ‘Collective Church’, which is part of our Taking Ground network of Churches . They have a huge passion for the city of York and particularly for the 2.6 million people in Yorkshire who don’t yet know who Jesus is and work to share the life-changing power of the message of Jesus Christ with them. As well as running Collective Church, Will and Elyse are musicians and songwriters and are a key part of ‘Taking Ground Music‘. In their spare time, they love to travel – especially around Canada! They also love spending time hosting people in their home and cooking for people.
We asked Will what is exciting him as he prepares to come and speak to us this Sunday:
