Martin Dunkley continues our Life in His Name series with a message on The Comfort from John 14:1–14.

As Jesus prepares his disciples for what is about to happen, he knows their hearts are troubled. He has spoken about betrayal, denial and leaving them, yet in the middle of their fear and confusion, he speaks words of comfort and hope.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.”

Jesus promises that he is going to prepare a place for them in the Father’s house, and that one day he will bring them to be with him forever.

When Thomas asks how they can know the way, Jesus responds with one of the most powerful declarations in Scripture: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

This message reminds us that our hope is certain, heaven is real, and Jesus himself is the only way to the Father.
