Each Christmas, we collect together some of the luxury Christmas items that would be an unreasonable expense for somebody who is working with Christians Against Poverty, to overcome their debt.

Last year, we showed God’s love to around 40 families, by delivering a Christmas hamper that had been created from TVC Church donations.

Here is what the clients had to say:

“Thank you so much for the parcel!!!!! What an incredible gift. We are blessed that God has put you in our lives.”

“Wow, this is very kind of you all! the voucher has arrived and the lovely Christmas hamper you sent…Merry Christmas!”

“OMG…thank you so much for the hamper, it’s lovely. xx”

“Thank you so much for the hamper…hopefully we will have a better year to come”

So we are doing it again this year, right?

Yes definitely! What a privilege it is to be involved in the lives of our clients and to be able to bless them at this special time of year!

Here is how you can get involved…

You can donate single items, or join together as a community group to create the whole hamper, which would really bless one of our clients and their family this Christmas. You could also arrange to make a financial donation that will be specifically used to bless a CAP family this Christmas.

This is much more than a donation – it is a gift of love at this special time of year.

In order to make a donation, you can:

Bring your donation to Church on a Sunday morning, when you visit. Our CAP Centre team will be available at the back of the Auditorium, after the service to receive your donation on the following Sundays:

  • 26th November
  • 3rd December
  • 10th December

Drop your donation off at The Oakwood Coffee Shop during its opening hours throughout the week (10am to 2pm Monday to Friday and at Pizza Night)

Contact our CAP Centre Manager to arrange to donate a financial gift or make delivery at an alternative time.

Here is a list of the requested ‘Nice-ities’ rather than ‘Necessities’:

  • Christmas pudding
  • Mince pies
  • Christmas sauces/custard
  • Luxury biscuits and cakes
  • Bottle of Shloer or similar
  • Boxes/Tins of Chocolates
  • Biscuits for cheese or crackers
  • Tubs/tubes of sweets
  • Nuts & raisins
  • Sauces (e.g. cranberry, apple, chutney)
  • Pringles
  • Other items – you don’t have to stick to the list!

Let’s show Teesside the Love of God this Christmas!
