What an amazing Easter it has been!

For us as TVC Church, Easter is about way more than the eggs. It is a time when we remember the amazing sacrifice that was made for each one of us and a Celebration of the transformative power that comes through Jesus.

This Easter, we celebrated with a number of activities for our community and a couple of very special services.

The Easter Trail

Despite the very changeable weather last week, we were thrilled to welcome 450 people through our Easter Trail. Set in our woodland at The Oakwood, our visitors traveled around 8 stations. Each station told a different aspect of the Easter story and helped children of all ages to connect with what happened over 2,00 years ago. With goodie bags in hand, we explored Palm Sunday, shared juice and biscuits together as we remembered the last supper and even made crowns as we celebrated King Jesus. This cleverly designed trail brought the story to life and helped even the youngest of us to connect with what can be a very difficult story.

We asked organiser Nic what she loved most about this year’s Easter trail:

“I just loved meeting and chatting to families from our community – some of whom had enjoyed our Christmas trail and come back for more! Even on the rainy days, it was brilliant to see you all, clad in wellies, exploring the trail together.”

We want to give a big shout out to all the volunteers who sewed bunting, painted eggs, packed goodie bags and who together made this brilliant trail available to us all! We also want to say a big thank you to our Three13 learners and other volunteers to spent time building the trail path through the Autumn. We can’t wait to see how it will be used next!

Easter Fun Day

On Tuesday 4th April, we hosted over 200 of our local community our Easter Fun Day, at The Shack (TVC church’s building in Ragworth).

With a bouncy castle, face painting and lots of crafts, there was plenty of fun. We also had a cafe area where we could grab some food and chat with neighbours around large tables – so whether you came alone or as part of a family you could feel part of a bigger community.

At the heart of it all, our amazing volunteers led crafts and activities centred around Jesus and told the true story of Easter again.

The sun was out, the food was great, the community was full of joy and laughter! We look forward to growing the relationships that began on this very fun day.

Easter Sunday

The atmosphere was electric as almost 700 of us gathered on Easter Sunday morning for our Celebration Service. We sang, we prayed, we enjoyed being together as a collective of God’s people.

As part of our service, we were overjoyed to Baptise 7 adults and young people. This is a wonderful occasion as each of them takes the opportunity to publicly declare their personal decision to follow Jesus.
