We are thrilled to welcome you to one of our two Carol Services this coming Sunday.
Whether you come regularly to the Oakwood Centre or are brand new, everyone is very welcome as we come together to celebrate Christmas.
Here is everything you need to know about what to expect.
The Services
We have two services, one at 5pm and another at 7pm. Both will take place in our contemporary, seated auditorium, which has a capacity of 850 people. We are expecting the services to be busy, so please feel free to arrive early to find a good seat. You are welcome to sit anywhere you like.
The service will be led by Matt and Anna Biddlecombe, members of our leadership team, with carols led by our live band. We will pray together, hear from Scripture, and our Senior Leader, Martin Dunkley, will share a Christmas message.
We have included screens and visuals to help everyone follow the service and join in with the songs and readings.
Our services are relaxed, and everyone is free to sit or stand as they wish and to join in as they feel comfortable.
After each Service
After each service, we would love you to stay afterwards for refreshments. These will be served free of charge in our Sports Hall.
Our stewards will be on hand to guide you, where you can enjoy festive non-alcoholic mulled punch, as well as tea, coffee, mince pies, and other seasonal treats.
Everyone is invited to stay.
If this is your first visit, please do stop by our Welcome Hub to pick up a welcome pack. We would love to say hello.
Frequently Asked Questions…
Where is the service held?
Tees Valley Community Church is based at the Oakwood Centre, just inside the Durham Lane Industrial Estate in Eaglescliffe.
Will the service be live-streamed?
Yes. Our 7pm service will be streamed on YouTube and Facebook for those unable to join us in person. The live stream uses fixed cameras focused on the stage, although those seated in the middle section may occasionally be visible. If you have any questions about this, please speak to one of our stewards when you arrive.
Are children welcome?
Children are very welcome. However, due to the nature of this service, we do not have children’s provision available, and we kindly ask that children remain with their parents or carers throughout the service.
Do you take a collection?
At Christmas, we like to offer people the opportunity to donate to a charity we support, if they wish. This year, our Christmas Appeal will support Safe Families. Working through local churches, Safe Families supports families facing challenging times.
If you would like to give, you can bring cash, give online, or use the card machine located in the main foyer.
