And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it. (Exodus 7:5)
Pharaoh thought there was no one bigger, better or stronger than him or the gods he served. So when Moses came to him with the LORD’s demand to free the Israelite slaves, he responded, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey him and let Israel go?” (Exodus 5:2). Of course, Pharaoh would soon find out. God sent the ten plagues, each one a challenge to an area of life that Egypt’s gods ruled. And then it wasn’t long at all before he was saying, “Up! Leave my people… Go… And alsobless me” (Exodus 12:31–32). What a turnaround.
When God stretches out his hand, impossible situations get turned round and there is no one and nothing that can resist him.
ME – Pray that God would remind you that while he is your Father and Friend, he is not your ‘mate’; he is the LORD, the great I AM, who demands our respect and obedience.
US – We’re praying for one of our three focuses today: Resources and Finance. Pray that God releases all that we need and more.
OTHERS – Pray that our nation would once again turn back to God. Pray for our government and those in authority over us.
Don’t forget the daily prayer gatherings:
