Prayer Notes – Thursday 15th October 2026
Immeasurably More Through the Gospel
Matthew 9:37-38
“Then he said to his disciples, ’The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’”
Jesus looked at the crowds and was moved with compassion. The gospel grows when ordinary believers respond to that same compassion and step out in faith. God delights to use simple conversations, invitations and acts of kindness to transform lives. The harvest remains plentiful, and God still calls His people to join Him in His work.
Prayer: Lord, fill us with Your heart for those who do not know You. Give us courage to speak, wisdom to listen, and opportunities to share the good news of Jesus.
Beyond Measure – God’s Greatness
God’s heart for the lost – celebrate God’s heart for the lost and His power to save.
The Power Within – Our Surrender
Compassion and courage – pray for boldness, compassion, courage and obedience.
All Generations – His Mission
Making disciples and transforming lives and communities – pray for people to come to faith through Alpha, Bible Course, Eden, CAP, Grounded Housing and Three13.
Specific Focus
- Bible Course and Bible Conversations – pray for participants, people to be bold in inviting others, spiritual openness, gospel conversations, confidence, opportunities and people coming to faith.
- Alpha – pray for those on the course at the moment to come to faith, for the leaders to have the right words and for the speakers, and for those who come to faith to take the next steps in their journey of faith and sign up to a Thrive group after Alpha.
- Ragworth and South Bank – for the teams, for each person they encounter to experience the love and compassion of Jesus, for more opportunities to meet people in the community, for the Bible study and discipleship groups running to help people go deeper in their faith.
- Easterside – for every person in Easterside to know Jesus. For the new youth workers to have a real impact on young people in Easterside, showing them the love of Jesus and reaching them with the good news of the gospel. For more team members, especially administrators.
- CAP – for Julie as she leads the debt centre, for more befrienders to support the work and share the gospel with the clients, for more clients to become debt free and to know the hope that freedom from debt can bring, and for those who are in debt to not be overwhelmed or too embarrassed to seek help and support from CAP.
- Grounded Housing – for the issues and problems encountered with the local authority to be resolved, for the current tenant to really embrace the supported element and to fully engage in discipleship, and for the houses to be filled with future tenants who want to start the journey of following Jesus and living as His disciples.
- Three13 – for the learners, for the team and for opportunities to share the gospel.
Immeasurably More Family Challenge
Activity: Five Friends Challenge
Ask children to write or draw five friends’ names.
Keep the list for the week.
Pray for each friend.
Prayer: “Jesus, please help our friends know how much You love them.”
Encouragement for parents: Help children see that they do not need to preach sermons. Inviting a friend, being kind and praying for someone are powerful ways to share Jesus.
