You may have already heard a little about Bible Conversations, but we wanted to share more about this exciting season and how we’re preparing as a church.

Across Teesside, we’re seeing a growing openness to faith, with more people asking questions about Jesus, exploring Christianity and coming through church doors. This autumn, churches across the region will be joining together for Bible Conversations, an initiative in partnership with the Bible Society and Transforming Teesside Together.

As part of this, the Bible Society is investing in a major awareness campaign across Teesside throughout September and October. Through billboards, buses, bus stops, social media and more, thousands of people will be invited to engage with the Bible and discover more about the Christian faith.

As a church, we want to be ready to make the most of this opportunity.

Over the summer we’ll be focusing on God’s Word through our Summer Sunday teaching series and the Bible Course, which will run on Wednesday evenings during the summer holidays. The course is designed to help us better understand the Bible, grow in confidence and feel equipped to talk about our faith with others.

We’re also preparing to run Alpha courses, Bible Courses and other opportunities for people to explore faith during the autumn. As conversations begin across our communities, we hope many people will take steps towards Jesus and discover more of who he is.

Please join us in praying for Teesside, for churches across our region and for all those who will encounter God’s Word through this initiative.

There will also be a Teesside Week of Prayer and Fasting from 17–23 August, including an in-person gathering at 7pm on 17 August at St Barnabas Church, Middlesbrough.

We’ll be sharing more about Bible Conversations over the coming months so keep an eye on our weekly emails and website.
