We are thrilled to be playing our part in this Teesside-wide initiative – to love where we live!

Festival Teesside will take place at the beginning of June, but we want this to be much more than a great weekend and so we are partnering with other local churches and are looking to create a whole load of ways in which we can meet our local community, serve them and invite them to the festival.

“And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind,

and love your neighbour as yourself”

Luke 10v27

What can I do?

Well you might have loads of ideas about how you can get out there and show practical love to your neighbours – and we would say, brilliant! Get out there and do it!

If you’d prefer to be a part of a team, then we have loads of suggestions of things that you can get involved with too! Whether you are available through the day, or you work 9-5, if you have small kids, or are at school – there is something you can get stuck in with – so come on, let’s share God’s love with Teesside!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q – Can I bring the kids?

A – Certainly!

If the event is happening in the daytime and your children are free – please do bring them along.  We don’t want them to miss out on this amazing initiative!

However, you need to keep them with you at all times and you need to remain responsible for their safety.  This includes possible dangers from picking up rubbish and of course stranger danger.

The evening events will be more tailored to adults, but youth may want to come along too!

Q – I’ve got my own idea, can I do it?

A – Absolutely! If you have your own way that you can serve your local community, just do it! If you wish to open it up to other people to join you, or you’d like some Serve Teesside high-vis vests to wear, just email david.marley@tvcchurch.org.uk to register your plans.

Q – What if it rains?

A – Many of our activities will be able to continue in the rain, but the person running the activity will be in touch in case of any last minute changes.

Q – What should I wear?

A – Dress for your activity!  Strong sensible shoes will be required for litter picks etc.  Festival Teesside will also be providing some high-vis vests so that people know who we are and what we are doing.
