Since opening our doors in 1996 The Oakwood Centre has established itself as one of the leading regional venues for conferences, events and meetings. There is nothing quite like it in the region, and many organisations, large and small, have made it their natural choice for their events.
The centre is a non profit based operation, ensuring that funds are fed back into social action projects in the local community. We truly care for our area, and endeavour to revitalise and regenerate a region of the United Kingdom that is seen as one of the country’s most deprived.
The centre is situated just three miles from Durham Tees Valley Airport, less than a mile from Allen’s West railway station and eight miles from Darlington and Middlesbrough mainline stations. By road we are one mile from the A66 dual carriageway with its fast connections into the excellent road network of North East England. Unlike many other conference venues, parking is free, secure, and unrestricted; there is the benefit of our own free adjacent car park with 250 spaces. When it comes to meetings, conferences and events, we know that one size does not fit all, which is why we pride ourselves on our “can do” attitude born out of our core Christian values, and dedicated, experienced staff. Wherever possible, we will accommodate all of your requirements, therefore each of our rooms is designed with flexible seating arrangements and our on-site caterers are able to provide specific food for various dietary requests.
