Hosting a wide range of events open to all

Tees Valley Community Church has a dedicated Young Families Team whose main aim is to host a wide range of fun family events that are open to all.

During  school terms, we run a popular toddler group (ABCs )on a Monday (9.30am-11.15am and then 1pm-2.30pm), ages ranging from birth to school age. We meet in our large sports hall, which means we are able provide unique facilities for a variety of ages. Each session, either morning or afternoon has the same format and includes a lively singing time, juice and biscuit for the little ones and unlimited tea and coffee for the adults. The cost is £1 per child.  Operating for over ten years, it's popular and well-known in the local area.

During the months from September to June we hold family film events, showing a newly released DVD on a large screen, in a room set out in a cinema style. These films are free to watch. We run a tuck shop and have a break half way through the film to serve hot dogs, nuggets and chips, for which there is a small charge. There is unlimited free tea and coffee for the adults.  These evenings are well supported, and greatly appreciated!

Twice yearly the Oakwood Centre hosts a Childrens Nearly New Sale, which is a highly popular event. TVC Refresh is open for cakes and drinks during the sale.

Other events have included private sessions at local swimming pools, weekends away for ‘Fathers and Sons’ and again for ‘Mothers and Daughters’.
