Vision.
The vision of TVCC is to reach 10, 000 in the Tees Valley area. To realise this everyone in our church will need to be mobilised.
Fundamental to our church is our belief that everyone can lead others. You can share your faith, bring others to Christ, teach a new believer and encourage others to grow in their faith through discipleship.
2 Timothy 2 v 2 'And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.'
Learning to Lead
is a revised version of the School of Leadership training course already attended by over 200 people within TVCC. It is more than a series of talks, it will allow you the opportunity to discuss and consider how you will apply the knowledge and skills to your life. The purpose is two fold-building a Christ-like character and developing leadership skills.
Church is not a football match-thousands of spectators watching 22 players who are desperately in need of a rest. In God's blueprint there are no spectators, everyone is a player with a vital role to play in fulfilling the game plan. What is your role?
Who is Learning to Lead for?
It is for everyone from Tees Valley Community Church. We believe everyone has the potential to be a leader. A leader is that quality that makes other people want to follow you. So whether you are in Kids for Jesus, any aspect of youth or children's work, run a cell or aspire to run one-then Learning to Lead is for you.
Learning to lead is not:-
A management course
Not everything you need to know about leadership-it is there to whet your appetite
Not the only thing you need to do to be a competent leader-you will need to put it into practice
So what is it?
An introduction to the biblical principles for your life as a Christian, leadership and our church and its vision.
Looks at the character and attitudes of leaders
Learning to lead is not just about getting the information and getting the answers right but also about applying that information so you are learning by experience.
What 'me' a leader?
Why not! The bible is full of reluctant leaders, like Moses and Gideon-both men and women. At the very least thinking through the challenge of leadership and seeking God's direction for your life can only be a good thing. Who knows where it will lead?
Key information
The Learning to Lead course will run over 2 weekends, starting with a meal together on the Friday evening and closing after coffee and scones on the Sunday lunchtime.
