“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…”

So begins the greatest of all stories. It is the Story of a relationship; a relationship forged at the dawn of time; a relationship shattered and severed by mistrust and deceit; a relationship painstakingly restored through thousands of years of human history.

The backdrop to the Story is the rise and fall of nations; wars and conquest; riches and poverty; love and hate; violence and betrayal. It is a Story told through the small stories of remarkable people; men and women of faith and courage, of simple determination and a longing for what was lost.

It is above all the Story of God’s extraordinary commitment to redemption – God’s Mission to recover his lost Creation.

Our School of Bible & Mission sets out to explore this wonderful Story and our part in it through two main courses:

  1. Engage with God's Story
  2. Engage with God's Truth

In which we explore the Bible as the unfolding Story of God’s great mission of redemption, and what we learn of his nature and character through the revelation of the Scriptures.

We are also introducing two new Courses (from October 2011) – Engage with God’s World – through Prayer (a three module Course), and Engage with God’s World – through Mission (five modules). This course will be the Kairos Course – a world mission course which gives you a chance to understand and see the gospel at work in other cultures and see the role God has for you. This is an exciting and challenging Course, presented by a specially trained team and an absolute must for all of those interested in the Mission of the Church beyond our own culture in engagement with people groups overseas and in the migrant communities around us.

Each Course takes the form of nine modules presented one a month from October to July, on a Saturday.

The Courses are taught by Course Director Tony Gray and a team of local teachers as well as visiting teachers.

Tony and his wife Doreen arrived in Teesside in 2000 with many years of experience in Church leadership. Tony came from being the Principal of King’s Bible College, then based in the Scottish Borders. He carries a passion for the Bible as something more than a Manual for Belief and Living but rather as an adventure, a story into which we are drawn as we walk with Christ Jesus.

To join in the adventure of exploring the Bible and its influence on our lives or to get more information contact Tony Gray, Paul Watson or the TVC Church office using the details in the sidebar.
